Meet Mars!
Mariah Plakas is an American visual storyteller. Her artworks, that often feature her memories, are playful and nostalgic. Through Adelphi University, Plakas received a BFA in Studio Art and minored in Graphic Design and Art History. She also studied Renaissance Art History in Florence, Italy. Plakas received the Conger Goodyear Award for Studio Art upon graduation. Her 50+ page sketchbook collaboration with Walt Whitman's poetry was displayed at the Walt Whitman Museum for his 200th Bicentennial Celebration. Plakas' artworks have been in twelve different exhibitions and in FOURALL Magazine and illustrated the cover of “The Garden,” a novel by K. S. Birch. She currently resides and works in New York. Plakas will graduate in 2023 with an MFA in Visual Narrative from the School of Visual Arts.
